Now, a lot of Work has been done -

But - No work has been done on the Flagship.
No work to the pier (above) two guys were fishing on the San Luis Pass fishing pier - not sure  how they got up there.

Tom went up into the beach condo to check it out - said it just needed a good cleaning.
A beach house that still needs repairs but with beautiful flowers around it.
My photo of the 81st Street fishing pier with the red truck still stuck on it.
And....the island is starting to get green again - look at these flowers.
The pool above -

We went back to the beach and a lot of work has been done since we were there in March.  Just about all the cement has be moved and loads of dirt have been placed at the condos grounds.   So, it is even with the beach again.  (I just hope we don't have even a small storm that causes the water to come up high - it could wash away the new dirt.)  The road is done and it is nice and the beach access road next to our place is done.  Bright Light is open and the beaches are great.  Tom and Taylor went fishing with a guide in the Bay and he said it was nice - no big debris ( like a couch or a fridge.)  They are working on the electricity and the water system soon.  Maybe next summer we will be staying here again.

Remains of the Galveston Fishing pier

Remains of the Galveston Fishing pier, originally uploaded by J-a-x.
This was on the news because some "stupid" people stayed here during the storm and had to be rescued the next day. They are lucky they are a live.

Flood - 4-28-09 - Houston- update

This is Lakeside Country Club in west Houston after the rain we had on 4/28/09.  I have seen a lot of houses with the carpet pulled out and piled in front of the houses.  So quite a few houses did get water inside of them around here.   What Allison and Ike didn't mess up - this big rain storm got.   You never know what will happen in Houston.     We have had the end of last summer, a tropical storm, hurricane Ike, snow, hail, and now a torrential down pour.   We hope this swine flu  mess doesn't have the kids missing school again.
