Update ~ Hooray ~ we can use the beach condo now {after two years of repairs}

The update from the Peregrine website:

August 31, 2010
We are pleased to inform you that Peregrine will be open for Owner use only starting September 10, 2010 with restrictions.
Owners who plan to use their week at Peregrine starting September 10 (Week 37) should be advised that the State Environmental Health Department has not yet issued a permit for the operation of our public water system. Therefore, it will be necessary that you supply your own water for drinking, cooking and ice. Do not drink the water! We expect the State Approved permit for the operation of our public water system to be issued in September.
Please remember that Peregrine is being strictly regulated by both State and County health agencies as to the amount of wastewater that can be released into the discharge area that is adjacent to protected wetlands.
To comply with these regulations, "No Owner shall have more than six (6) family and guest in any one night in a two (2) bedroom unit nor ( 4) in a one (1) bedroom unit" as stated in the Rules and Regulations of the Peregrine Homeowners Association. Compliance with this regulation will be strictly enforced. Non-compliance with this regulation could cost Peregrine Homeowners as much as $1000.00 per day to treat the excess discharge generated over State limits. Also, as in the past, Peregrine is a "no pet facility". Those bringing a pet to the property will be charged $275.
Discussions are ongoing with RCI as to when Peregrine homeowners will be able to deposit their vacation intervals. We will notify you as soon as the arrangements are completed with both RCI and II.
We hope that you will enjoy your beautiful property and we send our best to all of you.

The Mess. . .

{This is not my photo}  but it shows how bad the storm was -  I wonder about the owners of these boats ~ did they replace them or fix them up or just have to take the loss.

We Spent the night at the beach condo >>>first time since August 2008!

but we cannot use the water . . . it is still being tested by the state.

They still have a lot a work to do - but I think maybe by Labor Day weekend the complex will be ready for people to start staying there.  We went on Sunday & the guys went fishing and I  clean up.  The water is has not been tested by the state, so I did not use it or wash any dishes yet.  They are still pilled up on the table.  I will go back in a few weeks and do that.    The weather was so nice,  I have never seen it in summer with the sky so blue and  not a cloud in the sky.   The sand seemed different to me, sort of sticky {oil spill ?}  Not sure - but it sure did stick to my feet and stain them and my moms crocs were stained.   More soon . . .

OUr place should be done soon. . . YAY

I took this photo on the beach when went by the condo in May:

Saturday, July 10, 2010

The finishing touches are being made:

I am so excited ~ the beach condos should be done soon and they will have Satellite TV and HugesNet wireless internet.  That will be so nice to have a computer and sit outside or anywhere in the condo.
The water lines are almost done - the State has to test the water.  Almost 2 years after Ike -  the Condos will be better than before.  (I hope we don't get a storm anytime soon)

NOTE:  I stole this picture from the internet - I may try to take my own version of it soon!

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park - Waller, Texas

Oh no ~ I messed up, this was supposed to go on this blog.  I didn't realize I was loading the pictures to this IKE blog.  Oh, well maybe since we can't to the beach condos, people will want to check out this park.

Some friends of the boys took them to this RV park - it is in Waller about 45 minutes away and has cabins as well as hook ups for RVs/campers.   Tommy and I and the cousins came up there on Thursday and spent 3 hours swimming and hanging out.  Taylor went up with us on Thursday, but he had to come back for summer school, and then I took him back on Friday so he stay there with his friend Quentin.  Spencer went to the camp on Wednesday afternoon with Wyatt.  His grandma got new RV - check it out and the fun park:

This was the road home ~
